Prices and Estimates

My basic rates are below.
Hourly rate for general handywork - £27
Hourly rate for decorating/flooring - £30
Hourly rate for plumbing work - £40
Daily decorating rate - £210
Weekly decorating rate (based on 35 hour week) - £1050

I only do visits for quotes on the larger, more complicated jobs, for example a big garden project, bathroom re-fit or large room full decoration.  If you have a list of smaller things to get done, give me a call and I will give you an estimate on the number of hours it should take.  I will ask you quite a few questions and I sometimes ask you to send me a couple of photos on your phone or via email, to give me a better idea of the job.  I will then give you an estimate of between £x and £x, if you are happy to go ahead, I will then get you booked in.  

 All waste will be left with you to dispose of unless we have agreed an additional price for me to remove it and dispose of it in the correct way.  This means, if I am cutting your lawn and hedges, I will leave the green waste with you.  If I am replacing a bathroom or taps, I will leave the old set/suite for you to dispose of.  If I am taking down an old shed and replacing, I will leave the old shed and new shed packaging with you to dispose of.  

I can take smaller items to the tip, but this does incur an additional charge, due to commercial waste disposal charges.  Alternatively, I can help you arrange for a skip and fill it for you.

To give you an idea I have given some examples of the prices for various jobs.
Sink tap refitting in a bathroom.  Relatively easy access, taps on site, correct type/fitting and isolators in place. Between £40 and £80
Fitting a curtain rail, hanging curtains, putting up 4 pictures, changing some lightbulbs.  Between £27 and £54
Fitting a vinyl floor to a tile floor in a kitchen, including sealing the edges.  Floor size 3m x 5m, vinyl and sealant supplied, white goods and cooker to be moved and then put back.  Between £120 and £150
Garden work.  Cutting lawn, cutting hedges, weeding and sweeping paths, weeding 2 flower beds.  Grass area approx. 10m x 5m, hedges 2m tall and 15m long cutting front and back.  About 15m of paths and medium flower beds.  Between £81 and £135
